The project “The Development of Rural Area Information Technology Broadband Network RAIN” (RAIN-2) formed 4915 kilometers of optical cable network, which is connected to 775 rural settlements, 1,485 operators knots, 567 educational institutions, 517 libraries and 331 public Internet centers.
Midway through the planned works, it became clear that the volume of the project RAIN-2 is not sufficient enough to meet the needs of the country, therefore it was decided to increase the volume and to construct another 1,000 km of fiber optic lines, connect another 180 settlements and to install additional grid connection points.
The list of future settlement connections is presented here. Facilities will be created where they do not exist or were there are no plans to create them in the near future. The list of future object connections is presented here.

By connecting additional objects to broadband networks, network operators can connect their existing access infrastructure or create a new one and provide broadband services in rural areas, which were not included in the volume of the project RAIN-2 when preparing the said project. This would allow access to broadband services on more rural settlements and provide better opportunities for network operators to use the RAIN Project-1 and RAIN-2 during the implementation of developed infrastructure and provide broadband services in rural areas.
Summing up what has already been done and what is still to be additionally made in implementing the RAIN-2 extension, the total result will be at least 5900 km of fiber optic lines, and broadband connection that will reach about 950 settlements.
